A few little extras

A picture of Fall in Angus, Ontario.

And 2 of the kindergarten girls with their apple & marshmallow turkeys.

The first day that they came on the bus I asked the first girl her name. "Taylor" she said. I did my welcome to the bus spiel, then asked the next girl her name. "I'm Taylor too". "Yes you are" I said. So when I speak to them, I call them Taylor 1 (on the right) and Taylor 2. They giggle every time. I love the little ones - they make up for the big ones. {Yeah, you know what I mean Jocelyn!}

And my sock collection for Jane. I am humbled by the skills of the sock knitters out there in the blog world! The single pair was left out of the family picture accidentally because they were on my feet! There is a definite fall chill in the air.

  1. Wow, my mother lives in Angus. Small world or what!

    I see you've made the Fiesta socks by Lucy Neatby. I've had them on my to-do list for such a long time. I just may have to finally move them up on the list. What yarn and colours did you use?

    Oooh! Are those the Fiesta Feet socks I see there? They look great! And maybe the Crossing Cables ones, too? I love those black and pink ones, too! Great socks! Sockbug

  3. Does your mother knit Michelle? Please e-mail me privately if she does and has time for a new enabler ... I mean friend.

    Yes, The fairisle socks are Lucy Neatby's Fiesta Socks. I knit them with Koigu in cream and a dullish variegate (though it looked nicer once I knit it up with the cream) and they really were a party on my needles!

    The burgundy cabled socks are a pattern called "MooseWalker" by 3 trails Handknit Designs (I tried googling for them but they don't seem to have a site anymore). I don't know where the pattern is but I'm sure I could find it if someone wanted it.

    The black and pink socks are actually a lovely, rich dark blue and pink from Mountain Colors. They are my only non-machine washable socks but they are so worth it!
