Mystery Solved

Ahh yes - I had won a contest on my Storm the Fleece group on Facebook. I totally forgot about it, and I also gapped it that Lyn was in the U.K.
Between this windfall, and the mohair roving that Helen picked up for me at an event in Ottawa before she left,
I'm going to have to go for a visit with my spinning sister Daphne and get my spinning legs under me!

I don't think I told you guys about how I caught a ball on my inner upper thigh last week! It was a doozy and bruised up fast and in spectacular fashion. You can even see thread marks from the ball in the centre!!
One of the young girls at work asked if I cried. 🙄 I told her that there was no crying in baseball. I walked it off, adjusted to the tenderness on my pitch (it's the leg I step forward and pitch off of), and played on. One of the ladies had an ice pack which I used, or it would have looked worse.

Mystery

I am almost done my Secret Deadline Knitting! It was a bit slow going for a bit, but I'm picking up speed now.

I got a mystery package in the post today.

I don't remembering ordering anything from over the pond, and the return adressee is unclear.
I think I'll let myself mull it over a bit as I work on the 2nd sleeve tonight, then open it as a reward before bed!
Weird ...

I rewatched the 1st series of Dark Matter, and I'm into the 2nd, and I'm heading into the 3rd later tonight.
I really do love my android box!

Rainbow Delight

Wow!!
I finally rewarded myself with another packsage opening. This one is In The Deep Hue Sea  It's been several days of good knitting and I felt a treat was in order.
I did not disappoint myself. A thoughtful sticker was a nice opening touch.
500g of stunningly vibrant colours!!

I am a bit of a purist in my rainbows, so I'm not sure what to do with the pink, but I love all of the colours. Erica did two greens, blues, an indigo and a violet. I'm
stunned by the artistry of it and can't wait to get started on this Sweet Spot strip!!
She also included a couple of stitch markers which will never go wanting around me!!

I received the new Hedgehog Fibres  kinny Singles Club package. I'm thinking that maybe I'll save them all up for an opening party. I'm surprised that I haven't come across any spoilers about the clubs in my social medias.
So that's tonights excitement. I've finished Wentworth series 5, and I'm dying with curiosity to know what is coming in series 6!!
I'm getting caught up on my reality series' now - FaceOff, Ink Master, Next Food Network Star ... just a few of my faves.
It's back work tomorrow, so I'm going to knit for a few more hours yet.

At The Same Time

You know those patterns that have, "At The Same Time" in the instructions? So you be extra careful and pay more than the usual attention.
Then there's those skilled designers that challenge you by throwing in the dreaded, "ALSO, At The Same Time". That's when I get serious and make a proper tracking sheet.

Yeah, I got this!!
This is my ends jar.
I like looking at it and remembering the projects that I've knit just by seeing a coloured bit of yarn. And it satisfies the hoarder in me.

I'm on the last season of Wentworth  I love this show and think I might see if the android box has the original Prisoner: Cellblock H

Beyond the Wall - spoilers

I took a couple hours out of the deadline knitting and did Clue 1 of the Beyond the Wall MKAL  So glad I did! It's a nice change-up. I went with alternating balls of yarn, and the bobbles. When I do a MKAL, I like to do the pattern that the designer envisioned, so while alternating balls of yarn is not my fave thing to do, and I love letting yarn pool as it will, this is the path that I've set myself upon.

Okay. To work, then two more days of my chosen work.

Absence

You know that when I'm so quiet on the blog, I've got a Super Secret Deadline on.

But I did finish the hat for Elise and opened my reward!

As lovely as I had remembered it!! Definitely going to be socks! I would like to have socks for all the major, legit and fun holidays.

Craig and I have made time for a weekend at the beach. Goderich isn't one of the major beach towns, so it was not ridiculously crowded and we have had a lovely time - even the weather cooperated today! I have the varying shades of pink skin to prove it!

Bowling was fun; I'm still not good at it, but I never gave up and earned a strike in my last frame!
It's supposed to storm tomorrow, but that's ok. We've had a fantastic day today and it'll be a good winding down day before heading back to work. And when I say "winding down", you know I'm mean knitting 😏

Great Expectations!

I really need to start lowering the standard by which I judge myself worthy of reward. I mean, I have bought myself lovely gifts, but then I make myself wait to open them!!
I remember what is in them - from In The Deep Hue Sea is a lovely rainbow set,

and from Ancient Arts a gorgeous Canada Day celebration skein.

But remembering doesn't see the stunning depths of the colours that the camera and monitors can't possibly capture. I want to open the packages, but feel like I need to earn it.
I was going well in the hat for Elise, until the new deadline came up.
Maybe I'll finish Elise's hat tonight and open one present. Yes, that!!

I'm currently reading Area X The Southern Reach Trilogy by Jeff VanderMeer  Not a quick read, well and thoughtfully written. Quality sci-fi, no doubt.
