The Score

1 in 9 odds - those are pretty good odds in favour of the player. I know, however, that that also means that I can play 81 times and lose every time and someone else can play 9 times and win every time. Which sucks for me. If there was a branch of mathematics that could entice me to further study if would be statistics. Thus I introduce to you the Tim Hortons Roll up the Rim to Win contest. When you roll up the rim on a losing cup (odds are!!) this is the message that you see. Very polite. However, it would not surprise me if either one of the following messages were to appear.
Tim Hortons 7 Wannietta 0

I have finished the Top Secret Sweater - no picture, you'll just have to trust me. I am swatching for Top Secret Sweater #2 (also for Fiona). The Naturally Easy sweater is comi
ng along nicely - I'm well into the 1st sleeve.

And a shout-out to Mr. & Mrs Schilthuis - welcome to my little Northern world! We did buy a house up here (Angus) this past summer
and we are really enjoying it - especially the kids! I got a bus run that fits into my schedule and the kids are pretty good. I miss the store and all of the people (family, staff and customers) but I keep up with Julie's blog so it feels like I'm still there in spirit. The weather is warming up so I really hope that spring is for real here to stay. Take care!!

  1. I'll bet that house will hold a lot of yarn!!!

Tim Hortons roll up the rim to win ... I think I've won a total of maybe 5 times since the mid 1990's. Pathetic. Hubby and I have a deal though. If we win the car, I get it; anything else is his. I think that's fair. LOL

  2. I swear - the Rav4 or the TV will shut me up forever about the lack of a prize on every cup!

  3. Hate to tell you girls but my husband has one a coffee almost everyday since roll up started. I've got about four but still looking for a TV. Keep trying!

  4. I won a donut on my first roll and thought this year was going to be different. Ends up it was just bait - we're drinking wayyy too much from Timmy's these days.

I did about a zillion Statistics courses in a previous life. I hate to admit it but it is actually fun. I'm such a nerd.

  5. I also won a donut on my first (and only) try this year . . . and I accidentally threw it out.

I miss Tim Hortons!!! I used to live in a smaller town and there was one on every corner. Now, here in Toronto, there are not enough. I wish I had one in my neighbourhood!

  6. I've had the same luck with Tim's...used to get a couple a day commuting to work. Never won a damn thing. I reassured myself that it was because I was soon going to win the big prize. I'm still waiting.

I let a comment in your last post about how gorgeous the Flirty Ruffles shawl turned out and how you are the mistress and goddess of the needles, etc...but it didn't show up. So I'm telling you now. :D
