KW Knitters Fair

Another fantastic year!!

Early morning start.

Dream in Color Jilly with cashmere!!! in the perfect Tardis Blue. Julie always picks perfect show yarn.

Shifting Sands shawl. Remembered to take a pic and make a note of it. Mostly I just tell myself that I'll remember, then I don't. You know

Quicksilver shawl at The Needle Emporium's booth.

Meeting FB friend Emily

Lunch with Helen.

Carole and Patrick at his Signature Yarns booth.

Carla and Henry from Georgian Bay Fibre Co.

Freebie from Michaels.

I can't seem to resist ZigZagStitches bags; a beauty comes home with me from every show!! The attention to detail that Catherine puts into every bag shines through in the finished product.

A lovely assortment of potential from Georgian Bay Fibre Co.!

And of course a shout out to all my friends and readers whom I totally gapped about taking a pic with!

I am on a day of utter rest today. It was a long day yesterday, but well worth it. Yarn and friends are worth it all.

Almost!!

I was trying so hard to get the Mock Cape done for the Knitters Fair, (just for convenience of drop off, not as a display) but alas, not quite.
I love the smell of wet wool; maybe that's a contributing factor to my passion for finishing.

I still need much sleep, and the knitting/finishing will wait; recovery needs immediate attention.

The puppies are good; they don't trample or lay on blocking pieces. They have been wonderful while I've been diligently knitting.

I love watching Chica stalk Petey.

He's completely oblivious, and she is so intent!! If laughter is the best medicine, these two are champion dispensers!

It was a good mail day yesterday. I haven't signed up for a club in a long while, but the GnomeAcres Randomini Club whispered it's sweet fibre love words to me. I am not disappointed.

The colours are a delight, and the yarn is squishy and soft. I'm not certain what I will be doing with these lovelies yet, but they enchant me and you can't rush inspiration.
I'll definitely get the next shipment, then give it some thought. For what I'm paying, I can get an full skein to make a pair of socks. The club offers variety, but roughly 1/2 the yardage.

It's coming!!

The KW Knitters Fair is just two more sleeps away!! SQUEE!!!! One of the premier and knittingly-exclusive shows in Southern Ontario, it is not to be missed if you knit!!

I will be going with Helen. She is my Keeper and Head Nurse these days. Her status as Protector is trumped only by Petey.
I'll be at the Needle Emporium booth for a bit - who could resist?!? Check out Julie's blog for a heads up on what she'll be bringing with.
If you're going and want to meet up in the AM, text me or FB message me.

My Stitch Surfers have stalled; I've been diligently working on the Mock Cape. Body pieces are blocking.

I love the smell of wet wool!! Seriously.I'm targeting having it done for the Fair, and you know about me and deadlines.

I am still napping () most every day unless appts interfere. The puppies are still in mosey mode with me.
The pain is seriously so much better!! I still have crampy days; things are still healing/settling and any kind of abdominal effort - too much walking, sneezing, not knowing how much something weighs - can kick off spotting and pain. So I see, feel, and obey.
I just started driving, (being given the medical permission), and am being sparing with that as well since, as I drive a standard, the clutching does put some stress on my abdomen, so carefully I go.

I have booked a hair cut through Canada Cuts for Gilda's. There are various salons participating throughout the GTA, supporting Gilda's GTA & Gilda's Simcoe-Muskoka.
Get a great cut at a special price for a great cause. Help me keep the promise that no one faces cancer alone!!

Fair Haul

It was a lovely day for a Knitters Fair & a whole lot of other knitters agreed - it was packed out!!

I dropped off the Beverly Cardigan & Ginormous Cowl by Julie's, walked around a bit chatting up so many friends that I hadn't seen in ages, got to work in The Needle Emporium booth for a bit. Julie had a Christel Seyfarth theme going on; I was very lucky that Julie didn't have a kit for
the Flower Jacket (on the mannequin on the right in the 1st picture) there - I'd have bought nothing else!! Julie's Malthese Shawl was amazing!!

Elise & I walked around and found scored some excellent things.

1. 100% Irish linen, Pinks & Cayenne from Clever Cat Knits
2. 5 skeins of undyed silk/wool/nylon (thanks Elise!!!) the possibilities abound
3. latest Debbie Bliss magazine
4. 100% Baby Alpaca, Pinks from Clever Cat Knits
5. 100% Cashmere, Ebony Wine from Zen Yarn Garden - I think that it will be a Lina chemo cap
And holding it all is a shallow Soak bucket.
Oh - and I also scored more drive band for Douglass from the Black Lamb. Seriously, if Mischief chews through this batch she had better not shed her nice warm under coat because she will be an outdoor cat!!

The only regret that I have on the day is that I didn't buy a skein of Blot sock yarn from Viola. Their booth was lovely, the girls were so nice and their yarns had such a wonderful depth and intensity of colour!! The yarn labels were all hand stamped - I loved them!! Ah well, they're on Etsy so I will have to visit them there.

I want to give a special shout out to Judy who brought 2 garbage bags full of yarn as well as 4 boxes of needles, patterns and accessories for me to pass along to Gilda's House. Awesome, that's all I can say - Thanks Judy!!!
