I’ll Need 3 Forks please

Till Death spoiler pics below!!

It’s been quite a busy week for me at work, but I have managed to get some things done at home too!!

I finished my Wonder Woman Cape!!!

This is the pic of it blocking; I’ll have someone take a pic of me wearing it tomorrow. It didn’t block out quite as large as it could have - my short row wraps were a bit tight. Still, I’m chuffed af with the final result!!

Then I finished my Till Death MKAL mittens.

Not blocked yet, but I am thrilled with them. I wore them this morning and the beads on the palms are already driving me bonkers, so I think that I’ll be cracking them off. They do need blocking, and then I’m ready for DΓa de los Muertos

And then I made Wonder Woman cuffs. I could not be more pleased with how the colours worked out, finishing with the white/gold at the edge of the ruffle!!

The beads are so sparkly that I imagine that I really could fend off bullets with them!!
It also gave me the opportunity to use my tiny bead spinner - still one of the best gadgets ever!!
I popped into The Needle Emporium today (yes, when I’m in the mood for a drive, a 3 hour trip is “popping in” LOL!!) to pick up the yarn for my Throwback Cardigan  as well as yarn to knit a sweater for Julie. I haven’t knit with Rowan yarn in a while, and I’m especially happy to be able to give the felted Aran tweed a go in the Hartwist Sweater

I could help but grab another Cheshire Cat kit
I was so excited that they now came with variegated colours!! I know, it seems a bit muted, but it just called to me. It’s destined to be another Hitchiker scarf.

Almost ...

I’m almost done my Wonder Woman cape !! Literally like another hour. But today was back to work, so I will set
to it as soon as this is posted and I’ve eaten.
The yarn is a bit of a bleeder already; I’m going to have to rinse hard and often I think when I’m done.
I finally succumbed to the lure of Charmed Aroma. I’m
A skeptic by nature, but opals! Not my birthstone, but I do love them. They seem so alive to me.
I have to say that I’m not disappointed.
I really do hope that they wear well and don’t start tarnishing.

Tonight’s dinner is home made spaghetti sauce and shiritaki noodles
Nothing is ever going to replace pasta - there is nothing like the tender bite of wheat pasta. But I have come to appreciate konjac noodles and spaghetti squash for their own unique textures and flavors. Though the konjac noodles really have no flavour, they are an excellent conduit for a flavoursome sauce.

Okay - on to the finishing. Despite the ungodly hour at which I need to be awake tomorrow.

Wondering Along

It’s been a great day!!

4 loads of laundry washed, line-dried and put away (looking forward to bed tonight - sleeping on fresh, air-dried sheets is a luxury!), chicken broth made, cake baked, knitting accomplished.

My Wonder Woman cape is progressing nicely. I do love the subtle variations in hand-dyed yarns; they're never quite solid and I adore it!!

Not much else to share today ... back to it.

As I was typing, Chica, who is usually not so cuddly, has climbed up into my lap.

As she’s not one to enjoy being petted/touched much, I don’t think that this is going to last long. She and Petey will likely be switching spots. πŸ˜‚πŸΆπŸ’ž

Death Becomes Her

SPOILER PIC BELOW!

My back is better today. I do think that the cannabutter helped. Today was another epsom salt bath, heating pad and rest. More cannabutter therapy tonight.

I didn’t start my Wonder Woman cape until this evening because I just couldn’t leave my Till Death mittens not caught up.
I am using Indigo Dragonfly CaribouBaa for my cape. I love the colours and am excited to see how much I can get done in my next 3 days off!!

I do love the brightness that the Sundara free brings to the mitten, but it’s so tonally close to the blue MC that the detail of the patten is a bit lost. It’s different, but I don’t love/hate either one enough to redo either mitten. LOVE the skeletons though!!!

Till Death

SPOILER PICS BELOW!!

You know how sometimes you say, “I did something to my back ...”? Well, I did nothing and it’s not good. After my shower last night, it just started seizing up and I could barely walk. Despite praying to all the gods, the old and the new, this morning was not much better. It was so bad that I was calling in reinforcements to cover Cakes at work, and I especially love my cake shifts, so they knew it was bad.

My massage therapist is off on her honeymoon so I’m going to be using my next 4 days off to take all the drugs that will not aggravate my ulcer, and sit with a heating pad. Fortunately knitting fits nicely into this plan!!

I also ordered a footstool that will angle; I think that this will help improve my seated posture. And considering how much I’m seated at home, that will make a massive difference.

Adorable grandbaby pic so that when I post this to Facebook, the Till Death mittens pic isn’t the first one that you see.  I really do try to maintain the mystery for everyone else πŸ™‚πŸ™‚

I am finished Clue 3 on the 1st mitten!! I love the skeletons!

They fit just perfectly too!

So now I’m going to go go work on the 2nd mitten - so excited to see how my change of green looks. I hope I don’t love it too much or I’ll be tempted to make a 3rd mitten πŸ˜³πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚
Not sure how much I’ll get done, I’m going to make a medicinal brownie. For my back, not just because I can.

A little bit of everything

I’m slipping back into that habit of just knitting and not blogging!!

*** Till Death Spoilers below!!! ***

Woodstock was fabulous, as it ever is. Sarah was picking out colours for the Throwback Cardigan  and it ended up being decided that we will be doing it as our Frolic sweater! I loved knitting with Woolstock and Dream State so much sit Humulus that it was not a difficult decision to use it again and I am going to be using the Woolstock Thermal Spring as my MC, to go with these Dream State contrasts:

I am making nice progress on Julie’s Trenchcoat socks.

I started on Amin’s blanket.

As much of a fibre snob as I can be, I do love Bernat Blanket for baby/kids blankets. It is so soft and washes well — it’s a fave with the kids and moms!

I am excited about my Till Death mittens!! Progress is painfully slow, but the result is satisfying. I’m not thrilled with the sea foam green colour, but too much time has been invested to rip it out. I do have a plan for the 2nd mitten ... I’m not going to redo the 2nd cuff, so it may be a bit odd, but I’m ok with that.

A little bit of everything

I finished my Wonder Woman socks!!
Then it was a busy week at work - month end always is. And then there was a required trip to The Mall for jeans. My pant/jeans were entirely too loose to keep wearing, so it was   necessary. Mission accomplished.

I finally sat down this afternoon and got some knitting done!! I was cleaning up some of the more random yarn in The Spare ‘Oom and came across a messed up skein of that fabric yarn so I decided to just bang it out instead of rewinding and stashing it.

It already has a good neck to go to (not mine), so that’s done.

I couldn’t help but cast on another sock. This one is for another colleague, and as soon as I saw it, it almost screamed her name to me.
Yup, another Turtlepurl - Trenchcoat this time. So iconic!

I am presently going to knit another episode of MasterChef Australia on Humulus.
She has sat stoically whilst I played with other projects, and now it’s her time to shine!

I also picked out a final colourway for Till Death - after deep stash diving and a FaceTime consultation with Helen.
That will likely get cast on tomorrow after work.

Phew - good thing I’m just doing some ribbing! That task list is inspiring but almost tiring. Lol.
