Unfortunately, that means that there is a driveway to shovel.
Fortunately, Amanda is an eager and cooperative minion!
Unfortunately, Kyle is less so.
Fortunately, Prescod woman are resolute, able-bodied and independent and don't need a man-child's sullen and unwilling assistance to get the job done!

I've also been trying to make a (noticeable) dent in the laundry piles. The washing machine has lately decided to stop just before the rinse cycle. I can either just tap the dial or give it an enthusiastic sidekick to start it up. This of course, requires a fairly high degree of diligence (which, since it's not yarn/knitting related has a hard time getting that). So laundry turns into quite a protracted chore.
Then of course, I need to help download music and upload the same music to an mp3 player.
And feed the progeny (I've explained countless times that they will not actually starve if food does not pass their lips every hour!).

So it is only now that I am able to get to the job of making sure that the chesterfield doesn't just float away and get some knitting done. Ah well, this is when speed comes in handy - making up for lost time!

That was yesterday. It, and the bit we got overnight, is gone now. Thank you Sunshine!! It was nipply cold out (-20C with the windchill) this morning, but the sun was shining strong. The snow that fell overnight was fine & dry and combined with the wind & the brilliant sunshine I was blessed with another wonderful snowbow. It was fading by the time that I took the picture - I had to drop kids off & find a safe place to pull over.

I have swatched for Vivacious - a lacy wrap sweater for Apple Laine. I felt like Goldilocks!

Addi (and SRK) doesn't make a 2.75mm - argh!!! I was feeling very annoyed and discombobulated. I need to use a circular needle because of the # of stitches and I didn't want to just start experimenting with circular needles (I'm easily aggravated by a bumpy join - you know how it is). I was already knitting loosely on the 2.5's and I didn't want to try knitting looser; it's hard to maintain an even tension when you're knitting - deliberately - looser than is normal for you. I had already been quite severe with it during blocking and think I heard the yarn whimper when I glanced at it with an "I'll just block it harder" look. I was looking at the needles in my Circular Solution and pulled out a little bamboo one. 3mm Addi Natura. Hmmmm, says I, that might just do the trick. Perfect!
This one is just right!!! Cindy's tweaking the pattern but when I get it back I'll be good to go.

Yes, another storm. I just hope that it last long enough into the morning and creates conditions bad enough that they call off the buses. I'll admit that that is a bit selfish, but there it is. This is what it looked like up here in Angus at about 4:00PM - it's gotten worse.

Fortunately I had the presence of mind to go to the store and get some provisions in case it's not safe to go out tomorrow.

And not that I don't have enough knitting/yarn/cross stitching/beading to get me through a little storm nuclear winter, I received this stunning yarn yesterday. I was absolutely enchanted by it when I saw it on Sundara's site and knew that this was the yarn to become my own Flirty Ruffles Shawl. Jared is such a fan of Sundara's yarn that I finally took the plunge! The fibre (100% silk) is so luscious and the colours are just as described - Petal over Ice - I can guarantee that it won't be my last.
