Watching TAR 15 with Wannietta - II

From Toyko to Vietnam Vietnam. I wonder if we might see my little sister Tina? Unlikely, but you never know.
Lance seems like one of those know-it-all jackass kinda guys.
Let's see if online wins over the straight to the airport strategy.
So Tiffany is the self-professed blonde-disguised-as-a-brunette.
Brian - "buy economy but sit in business" is called "upgrade".
Geez Lance - calling
the Poker bastards is a little harsh.
Sam & Dan have made them!! I wonder how long the secret will stay a secret?
Uh-oh ... no mercy for the bluffers.
That's one full bus!
I would totally find a way to pack knitting - waiting an hour for a bus to leave with nothing to do would drive me
Crazy 1.

The epitome of the American attitude - throw money at it & you'll get what you want.
They wasted their money!!! The boat dock doesn't open until the morning so they'd've caught up anyway!!!
Justin & Zev are your fave team because Zev is too hard for you to read Tiffany.
Well, ya'll are liars bluffers, so why wouldn't you suspect the other teams of being untruthful about themselves.
"Nutrient mud" - I think that I'd rather not know what makes it so nutrient rich.
So Maria & Tiffany have to go fetch soup - I wonder how badly they'll butcher Vietnamese in their attempts to order the correct ingredients?
Nothing like talking yourself into your fear of the water Mika.
I thought that they had to order the ingredients - good thing that Maria is a pho expert!! I love pho - the Vietnamese restaurant in Alliston - yes, we have a Vietnamese restaurant!!! - has been closed for a couple of months because the family went home for awhile. I miss it a lot!
That looks totally nasty and very slippery.
White girls slipping and falling in mud always has entertainment value!
White boys slipping in mud is equally funny - the Vietnamese do not discriminate that way.
Poor Justin & Zev - losing a clue is ungood.
Crying 1

Herding ducks - that looks like chaos unleashed!!
I'm sure that "monkey" is a totally logical nickname for geese ducks in Meghan's World.
Matt is rockin' it out!!!
Flight Time is totally earning his name.
Nice thong Erika.
Sam & Dan are the first team done and on the way to the pit stop.
"Hustle! Hustle!! Hustle!!!" Good strategy Flight Time.
Gary & Mat are on their way followed by Big Easy & Flight Time.
Lance and Keri are hot on their heels.
Zev is the Duck Whisperer
Duck
I'm sure that ducks sense tension like most other creatures and Mika is spewing tension out of every pore.
Just like the brother/sister team in the last Race, Sam & Dan need to pick who is going to be the one to make the final call and then the team lives with it. It's the only way to save time on the race.
Awesome - Gary & Matt came in 1st!!! I think that it's Matt's pink hair that is endearing me to them.
Geez Canaan - she might like to wait until all of the ducks are in before she closes the gate.
Jessica & Erika have appear to have met their Waterloo.
All of the other teams have checked in ...
Bounce - I knew that someone would want to have duck for dinner, I'm glad it's my home girl Erika.
It's a foot race - who wants it more?!?
yes
Geez Garrett - Jessica did her best, you're really not making her feel better.

#1 - Gary & Matt
#2 - Sam & Dan
#3 - Big Easy & Flight Time
#4 - Lance & Keri
#5 - Justin & Zev
#6 - Meghan & Cheyne
#7 - Maria & Tiffany
#8 - Mika & Canaan
#9 - Marcy & Ron
#10 - Brian & Erika
Kiss That One Good-Bye!
Garrett & Jessica

Watching TAR 15 with Wannietta - I

Careful Lance, pride goeth before the big, strong crash.
The Globetrotters should be excellent for entertainment!
Basketball 1
"Yoga in da 'hood". I like them!
Ouch - eliminated before you can leave the country. I think that I'd be good at something with license plates - I make up all sorts of road games with them.
SO because the 1st team grabs a green one, they all do.
Good on Justin - I hope that Zev can overcome the tendencies that Aspergers brings with it.
Hurry UpYoga people - be one with the license plates!!!

DuhThumbs DownStoopid lawyer, now he's going to think that he's all smart and shit.
Yeah - that's it, it's all your fiancées fault; she didn't read the clue.
The Poker Players
Pokerare frazzled already - I'd've figured them for nerves of steel. Not.
A Japanese game show - OMG!!! I don't think that I like the sounds of this.
I could do this - I'd rather Kerwyn did it, but I could totally eat a wasabi bomb.
After they eat a wasabi bomb, each team needs to lead 20 game show audience members to the pit stop.
The
Sushi scares me a bit ... if you didn't know, I'm kind of a picky eater.
Ron & Cheyne choke down their bombs first, followed by Justin & Garett in round 2.
I don't know if Maria is going to be able to do it - you can't bluff wasabi.
Thumbs Down
Maria's turn straight away again. If she doesn't even try, does she just forfeit this turn?

And she totally does it with like no time to spare!!
Meghan & Cheyne have rocked it out on the first leg of the race!
Alrighty they - Big Easy & :Lance go at the wasabi and they both have no problem.
Good on Justin & Zev!
Canaan conquers the wasabi bomb next.
Gary & Brian vs Wasabi.
Erika should make some proper curry and get Brian used to some spice.
VomitGranted curry would be totally easier, but the boy looked like he'd never had heat in his mouth.
Lance & Keri hit the pit stop.
Dan takes on the wasabi next and totally bangs it out.
Yes Erika, perhaps you should have done this one.

I think that the
Poker lie about working with homeless youth is going to come back and bite them in the ass.
Brian & Erika made up a lot of time after they left the studio!!
Gary & Mat are in next - Bravo!
Maria & Tiffany lost a couple of their team.Embarrassed
Mika & Canaan have found the pit stop but lost an audience member. Ah - found her.
Maria & Tiffany looked for their 2 people, but they decide to check in without them.
The good news is that it's a non-elimination leg. The bad news is that they have incurred a 2 hour penalty and they'll have the extra Speed Bump task in the next leg.

And to celebrate the 1st (and 2nd)leg of the race, Liz has an appropriate recipe for Negimaki!
#1 - Meghan & Cheyne
#2 - Justin & Zev
#3 - Lance & Keri
#4 - Marcy & Ron
#5 - Big Easy & Flight Time
#6 - Brian & Erika
#7 - Gary & Mat
#8 - Garrett & Jessica
#9 - Mika & Canaan
#10 - Maria & Tiffany

I've totally got to hit the sack so that I don't start the week out with a sleep debt - 4AM comes early. I'm DVR'ing the 2nd part & will blog it tomorrow after work.

Catching up

So Stitches Midwest was awesome - working at the Signature Needle Arts booth, seeing Elise again and the live debut of my Sweetspot afghans. They were very well received and I've been doing more swatching with more yarn. My last blog was from my iPod & for some reason it wouldn't let me type out an actual post.Cathy, Daniella & Laura were as awesome as ever and really made me feel at home in the booth. 5'5.5" has never felt tall to me until I looked at this picture.

I've got to give a shout-out to Mary - it was so nice to meet you Big Hug

I got a mug from Starbucks that people sign, then you bake in a low-temp oven and it's good to use & put in the dishwasher. It's filled in nicely!!

Work has been kicking my ass since school started up again. We've been scrambling to cover routes so I've been driving more days than not and with the new office set-up and phone system the 10-12 hour days that I've been putting in have been just keeping my head above the ocean of paper, but it's been seriously cutting into my knitting time and I'm starting to feel like a soulless automaton.
But I have finished putting together the squares for Luke's blanket for Cindy and I'm finally making good inroads on the Leaf Motif Jacket (#31) from the winter Vogue Knitting.

Kerwyn has had a few promising interviews and we've got our Fingers Crossed. The gods have been cruel enough for long enough I think.

Oh yeah - The Amazing Race starts up again tonight and yes, I'll be there watching it with you & blogging it. I don't have a favourite team yet, we'll see how the first leg goes.

I hit the big 40 on Friday and I don't feel older (well, not most days). I feel like I'm really starting to hit my stride and find my place in the universe.
