Do you knit so much that you forget about what you've done?
If Véronik hadn't blogged I may not have remembered knitting the Lush Swingy Jacket. I know!!!
Here's a pic of it blocking that I couldn't share at the time.
It's totally another stunning & timeless Véronik Avery design.
Knitting keeps me grounded, distracted, happy and productive. Being fast just helps me support my habit ... I knit like everyone else, one stitch at a time and I love each and every one of them.

She Scores!!
I got totally lucky on July 11th. Claudia updated her stock, I got wind of it, swooped in and started throwing skeins in my shopping cart. I was very lucky and came away with 5 skeins on checkout.med Rosenrot, med Wilder Mohn, dk Wilder Mohn, lt Johannisbeer und Brennessel, dk Rittersporn
The Rosenrot is very close to the medium and dark Wilder Mohn and while the differences are subtle, I love them all! The deep purpley blues in Rittersporn are deeper and richer than I've seen in any other yarn - Claudia is a veritable colour genius!!

Colour Me ...
#FF1493 |
Your dominant hues are red and magenta. You love doing your own thing and going on your own adventures, but there are close friends you know you just can't leave behind. You can influence others on days when you're patient, but most times you just want to go out, have fun, and do your own thing. Your saturation level is high - you get into life and have a strong personality. Everyone you meet will either love you or hate you - either way, your goal is to get them to change the world with you. You are very hard working and don't have much patience for people without your initiative. Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation. |

Your dominant hues are green and blue. You're smart and you know it, and want to use your power to help people and relate to others. Even though you tend to battle with yourself, you solve other people's conflicts well. Your saturation level is very high - you are all about getting things done. The world may think you work too hard but you have a lot to show for it, and it keeps you going. You shouldn't be afraid to lead people, because if you're doing it, it'll be done right. Your outlook on life is very bright. You are sunny and optimistic about life and others find it very encouraging, but remember to tone it down if you sense irritation. |
Like Carol, I did it twice - I'm quite certain that I selected the exact same qualities, but got a slightly different result. I love how these quizzes have me pegged!!

Newest Members of my Stash Family
Amanda & I both had a wonderful time at the Tent Sale & at The Needle Emporium. Really, you have no idea how much she loves going there - working the register, neaten shelves, seeing Julie, Jane, Cathy & Sarah (she really missed you Sarah!!!) and even sweeping & making up price stickers.
I think that I demonstrated a remarkable amount of restraint, coming away only with the following:
The Cotton Braid will most likely find itself being knit into this:
Amanda also begged me into starting her on the pathway sock knitting. She couldn't wait so I got her casting on at the store and then she picked it up and kept going at home to make sure that she felt pretty good about working on multiple needles so that when I went to work she'd be able to go on her own. I finally had to make her put it away. "Just one more needle," wears a little thin at 10:00PM. She made excellent progress!! I would love for her to love it, but I've told her that if she's not enjoying it she doesn't have to keep at it - there are other projects that she could try.
Amanda & I will be at the Stitch 'n Pitch Toronto on August 5th - it's going to totally rock!!!
Edited to change S'nP date!!

Hard at Work
Well, maybe hardly working would be more apt. Actually we're in between shifts. Amanda is enjoying the amenities at the hotel while I blog, Plurk, Ravel and knit.
This is Prism's Tencel Tape - it's for the next, and probably last, project for Elise's book. It's all coming together!!
For those who enjoy dark, pithy humour, (and yes, I mean you Jocelyn) check out Evil Couch.
Blogger is being a bit tetchy and won't let me move pictures - but I'm sure that you can match the words & pics up!!

Strawberry Season
I just love strawberry season! Since I was a little girl we've picked our own at the local field every few days, then eaten them - straight up warm from the sun, cut with fresh whipped cream, on top of warm biscuits and put up into jam.
The tradition continues.
Strawberries as far as the eye can see and, while Kyle has apparently outgrown the love of PYO, Amanda still loves it!!
Amanda & I are going to be at Julie's Tent Sale on Tuesday & Wednesday - making sure that all of the yarns find loving new homes!! So say "hey" when you come by!!
